Calvin Vezina B.A.cs,M.C.,RP

My name is Calvin and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have spent the majority of my life in Northern Ontario and am currently counselling in Timmins. In the early 1990’s I spent seven months in the Canadian Arctic in a small Inuit Hamlet called Resolute. It was here that I first became interested in psychotherapy and helping people in a counselling aspect.

I have always enjoyed learning and as an Air Traffic Technologist for over thirty years including twenty years of supervision, I continued to further my education and completed my bachelor degree in theology and then a master degree in counselling. I am an ordained minister and have helped out with a number of churches and organizations throughout Northeastern Ontario. One of the more difficult roles I fulfilled was serving ten years as an on-call chaplain for the Emergency Department at Timmins and District Hospital as well as currently serving as its Director of Spiritual care for the Hospice unit there. I am also a member of the Timmins Palliative Care Resource Team and the Spiritual Care advisor for the Timmins Family Health Team. I love the opportunity to be counselling Timmins and area.

Some of the situations that Resolute Counselling & Psychotherapy can assist with are: anger management, anxiety, Christian counselling, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, conflict resolution, depression, grief and loss, marriage, family and relationship issues, stress management and trauma/PTSD.

I am a proud member of the Metis Nation of Ontario. Being of aboriginal descent has allowed me the opportunity to better understand the role that the indigenous people of Canada have and continue to play in our society.

I have named my practice after the hamlet where it all began for me; Resolute Counselling & Psychotherapy.
