Appointments

Each appointment is around one hour in length and I reserve some evening and Saturday slots for those who work late and are unable to make a daytime appointment. Often these slots get filled up fast, so please make sure to call in advance to make sure your time is available.

Unfortunately, psychotherapy is not currently covered by OHIP. Some insurance companies, however, providing group or private health benefits will reimburse for psychotherapy services provided by a CRPO Registered Psychotherapist (RP). It is best to check your own individual policy before beginning treatment.

Your employer may also provide coverage through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). With the exception of direct billing to an approved EAP or Employer, which needs to be worked out ahead of treatment sessions, Resolute Counselling & Psychotherapy will receive payment at time of session. We accept Cash, Checks or E-transfer.

Psychotherapy calls for an active effort on your part. In order for the therapy to be most successful, you will have to actively work on things we talk about, both during our sessions and at home. During the session we will discuss exercises at times for you to do on your own, this enables you to put the learned coping strategies and techniques into practice and learn from your experiences. Therapy does not change a person overnight. It can however assist you with long-lasting and positive changes you can use to manage stress and anxiety, reduce feelings of depression and anger, as well as lead to a happier and healthier outlook on life. Working on yourself takes time, motivation and persistence. Since therapy can often involve discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness, however. I work with you to move through these feeling.
